RTA delegation visits Abu Dhabi traffic department
A delegation from Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) visited the Department of Traffic and patrols at Abu Dhabi Police. The aim of the visit was to acquaint themselves with the latest technological developments in traffic management system being implemented at Abu Dhabi traffic department.
The delegation was received by Colonel (Engineer) Husain Ahmed Al Harthi, Director of Traffic Engineering and Road Safety at the Department. The delegation consisted of Mr. (Engineer) Husain Al Bana, Director of Traffic at RTA and Head of the Delegation, Mr. (Engineer) Saad Ali Al Asadi, Head of Traffic Safety and Mr. (Engineer) Ahmed Saleh Al Ali, Head of IT Team at the Licensing Company.
The delegation appreciated the new system which merged a number of modern technologies such as the Geographical Information System (GIS) and Geographical Positioning System (GPS) in addition to other methods of analysis. According to Engineer Al Harthi, the new system helps traffic police in collecting and analyzing traffic accidents data, saving and restoring them easily.
