The Ministry of Interior achieved excellence on both local and international levels by the numerous accomplishments that helped maintain the gains made by the UAE, making the country an oasis of peace and security the both nationals and residents enjoy which offers them a style of life with dignity that is measured by all civilized standards. The Ministry of Interior won many global awards that promoted its stance internationally, took noble stands that reflect the civilized aspect of the UAE, and was unique in its national initiatives that implement the visions of the UAE wise leadership in achieving comprehensive national renaissance.
The Ministry during its journey received all required support from our leadership enabling it from carrying on its responsibilities and performs its role that is based on its message in preserving security and stability in the country. This was done by adopting the best advanced applied standards with the aim to sponsor the civilized achievements of the country that emphasizes through its celebrations of the 41st National Day its willingness to protect its renaissance and promote confidence and peace of mind among all society members, in order to support security and peace in the country as a social responsibility.
In unprecedented steps in other countries, the humanitarian aspect was of a great importance in the list of our police leadership interests making this aspect an established approach of its work. Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reflected this with his continuous humanitarian stances such as receiving the UAE national Mohammed Khamis Majid in the airport upon his arrival on a private jet after being freed from his kidnappers in Nigeria.
The incident of kidnapping Mohammed Khamis received great official attention while the news of freeing the kidnapped national by the Ministry of Interior was welcomed by the public in the country with great joy and happiness.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior said that the Ministry contributed in elevating the level of the country in different forums internally and externally, making the UAE with the support of our higher leadership to the Ministry of Interior an oasis of peace and stability in a region that is filled with challenge and crisis. He added that this support has resulted in many accomplishments by implementing the strategic plan 2010-2013, and what will be achieve under the 2014-2016 strategic plan of the Ministry which fall under the comprehensive strategic development of the Ministry, and on top of that comes the local achievements of receiving several medals and awards under the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards program, and externally by being in third place worldwide in terms of social services, in addition to other achievements.
Humanitarian Stands
In terms of humanitarian stands, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reflected the noblest humanitarian stands towards the UAE female national Yusra Al Hittali –who is disabled- by responding to the latter’s request in meeting her and her family. HH visited Al Hittali in one of the medical centers in Abu Dhabi, along with his three children (Sheikha Moza, Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Khalifa) in a fatherly gesture show to Al Hittali. Sheikha Mozah bint Saif bin Zayed presented a bouquet of flowers to Al Hittali during the visit.
HH also drew a smile on the face of Fatima Al Ameri, who is also a disabled at the same medical center, as he visited her along with his own children.
