Five minutes nab causes the death of a labor foreman in Mussafah

 

A Bangladeshi worker killed his foreman, of the same nationality, after a brawl over the worker being five minutes late in returning to work because of midday nab.

ADP arrested the murderer, identified as (T. Sh. L., 29) in a record time after fleeing the scene of the crime, according to Major Jumaa Al Kaabi, Head of Homicide Section at ADP Criminal Investigation Department.

The crime took place in the end of last October, when the Operations Room received a report about a dead body of labour foreman, stained with blood on the fifth floor of a building under construction. A specialized team of detectives went to the crime scene on the spot. They cordoned the place and started examining the dead body, identified as (Sh. G. Aa., 30), which was found lying in a pool of blood. They discovered that the victim was hit several times on his head and face.

Investigation team found a metal rod with blood stains near the victim's body. They seized the crime tool. Then they arrested the suspect while he was trying to flee to another Emirate.

He added "The above mentioned Bangladeshi worker confessed that he hit his foreman on the head and face to death with a metal rod, because the victim slapped him on the face and pushed him down.

The worker claimed that the cause of the crime was that he reported five minutes late to work after a short nab. His foremen reprimanded him and threatened to fire him and decided to deduct that day from his salary, although the suspect kept apologizing to the victim.

Al Kaabi urged employees and employers to solve their problems in a civilized way. Assaults, beating or killing would not solve the problem, but might lead to the disruption of victim and suspect families the thing that would affect the whole community.

Al Kaabi also urged employees to control their behaviors, to follow proper methods of calm discussions in solving their problems, in order to avoid such horrible crimes. They should refer to authorities concerned such as police stations for finding a solution for their problems.

In the same context Lt. Colonel (Dr.) Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of Law Respect Culture Office at the Secretariat General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior said "Focusing on workers awareness and raising legal culture level among them in order to promote their behaviors is one of the Office top priorities and part of a continuous cultural programme targeting this category in particular". 

He urged employers to abide by law, to give workers their legal rights, in order to avoid frustration, criminal acts, and vengeful behaviors such as retaliation, sabotage or criminal acts.

The suspect will face a sentence of 15 years in jail as a minimum, or capital punishment, if the crime was premeditated.
