Abu Dhabi Police general Headquarters, as part of its strategy is keen to enhance security and safety feelings among community members, to deliver security services, to build community trust and to achieve highest levels of satisfaction among customers through strong relationship between the community and the police, and activation of communication between both parties.
Colonel Maktoum Ali Al Shareefi, Director of the Capital Police Directorate, has affirmed that adoption of modern policing concepts by ADP and the partnership between the police and the community have bridged the gap between policemen and community members. This will contribute very much to prevention of different crimes. ADO also provides modern and distinguished security services for the public.
He has added "Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has been set up the Comprehensive Police Stations in response to the directives of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Interior, within certain geographical areas in order to expand the range of services delivered to the public, to meet the requirements of those areas residents, to provide all human and means, so as to save their time and effort, These Stations deliver security, community and traffic services.
The Comprehensive Police Stations, within the modern organizational structure include a number of Branches and Units, such as the Community Police Branch, which is responsible for direct communication with the community and delivers different social and awareness services. Thus any problem can urgently be attended to and solved in order to maintain security and stability.
In respect of police reports, every person can report any incident to the police. But if the case is a complaint, the individual concerned should report to the Police Staion in person or has legally authorized someone to do so, such as (by proxy or a guardian). The types of required documents in such cases depend on the type of reported incident, like missing passport or original ID card etc.
Reporting a crime is an ethical and social duty, before being a legal duty. The police work round the clock to provide security and safety. Our staffs are well prepared to respond to any call at any time. There channels of contact which allow clients to contact police stations to report any crime or illegal activity or practice which may take place at labour camps. An individual can go direct to the nearest police station within his geographical area, call the nearest police station or call the Operations Room on (999), which works round the clock, or by coming by himself to the police station. An individual is not obliged to give his testimony or produce an evidence during investigation or in the court, unless is asked to do so in some cases, for the sake of justice and enforcement of law.
The Community Police Department and Tourism Police Section distribute manuals and maps showing police stations locations, means of phone contact, their geographical deployment. This allows customers to know the locations of police stations and easy access to them.
