A new study confirms the importance of performance management concept in government institutions
A study issued recently by ADP Center of Research and Security Studies has affirmed the importance of strengthening performance management concept in government institutions. It will assist in understanding and setting objectives and expectations to measure and evaluate performance, promote and develops performance.
Dr. Mohammad Qadri Hassan, researcher at the Center and author of the study under the title “Individual and Institutional Management of Performance” said “Performance management relies on direct contact between the boss and his subordinates or the manager and his staff. Management efficiency depends on best investment of human resources and provision of necessary technology and capital to perform tasks and duties.
Telecommunications revolution, availability of information and globalization has turned the world into a village. News moves fast. This development has imposed a heavy burden on management authorities and especially security authorities.
The study has affirmed that, due to economic and technological changes, management methods of yesterday will not work for tomorrow’s challenges. Human resources departments shall prepare themselves to face these challenges and to move from a traditional method of management to strategic management. The latter requires managers who have initiative, imagination, vision and approaches to strategic change.
The study aims to promote the standard of services which government organizations deliver to the public through reducing waste and financial cost, increased efficiency and identifying management problems in the services sector.
