Cops complete airport security training

The Airports Security Training Center of the Department of Airports and Checkpoints Security at the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police marked the completion of two courses on airport security.

Eighteen police personnel graduated from the courses, both of three-week durations. Besides airport security procedures, the cops were also trained in techniques of dealing with hazardous material.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Mohsen Al Hamid, acting director of the Department of Airports and Check-points Security, said the courses were being organised in line with directives of the police command to imbue staffers with the knowledge and skills required to boost their proficiency in such specialised tasks. The two courses organised were primary advanced security modules based on a model training curriculum of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
