Abu Dhabi Police has called on parents to be careful when signing up or buying online games, not disclosing credit card details to maintain their confidentiality, purchasing through reliable sites that apply secure controls, and using a bank card with limited balance so that they are not vulnerable to fraud and piracy, resulting in monthly discounts from the bank card.
ADP urged families to step up surveillance of children during the winter break, calling for not to worry about them and to protect young people from the dangers of extortion and abuse through websites, social networking and electronic games such as bullying, threats, harassment, luring young people to share their photos and statements and engaging them in unethical activities.
ADP urged the community to be vigilant in dealing with the websites of those online games, which are accepted by children and adolescents, and may drain more money to complete the stages of those games, putting pressure on parents, as well as the risk of those sites often accessing bank card information.
ADP stressed the need not to deal with fake and unreliable electronic stores that may lure customers into scams by stealing their money through their bank cards or bank accounts.
ADP explained that Aman service is a security communication channel that receives information (security and community traffic) and works around the clock and allows members of the community to contribute their role in preventing crimes before they occur in complete secrecy through the available communication channels such as toll-free number 8002626 (AMAN2626), by text message (2828) or via email (aman@adpolice.gov.ae) or through the smart application of the AD police hq.
