Abu Dhabi Police warned Jet Ski users from the dangers of reckless driving. Sufficient open space and many preventative measures are required to ensure the safe use of Jet Ski, Abu Dhabi Police indicated. They further advised Jet Ski users to abide by the rules that aim to help them avoid collisions with other jet skis, boats, and rocks. While such adherence to the rules would also help prevent the hitting of swimmers at beaches and resorts.

Major General Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director of the Central Operations Sector further stated that "protecting the youth from all kinds of accidents is an important priority for Abu Dhabi Police that actively seeks to promote partnerships with relevant agencies to ensure the youth's safety".

He further indicated that Jet Skis are equipped with powerful engines and some youngsters believe that it is thrilling to drive jet skis at a crazy speed. "This is a dangerous perception that needs to be changed through enhancing youth awareness in collaboration with sports clubs, families and the community in general," he said.

Abu Dhabi Police further called on Jet Ski drivers to use their Jet Skis in areas with sufficient open space yet still under the supervision of lifeguards; abide by the general safety standards for the use of a Jet Ski to avoid accidents; use all the appropriate safety equipment including protective gear, life jackets and helmets; keep the Jet Ski registration card available to provide to the authorities when requested; remain well within the territorial waters and avoid using the Jet Ski in areas allocated for swimming, or passage and anchoring of boats.
