Abu Dhabi Police has identified five necessary steps to avoid children drowning in swimming pools, stressing its interest in raising awareness and community responsibility to prevent children from swimming alone and stating that raising awareness and community responsibility is the first step to addressing drowning incidents.

ADP noted that the five necessary steps are:

Firstly, place a secure fence around the swimming pools in the houses so that children cannot enter them on their own, that the floor is non-slip and lock the doors leading to the swimming pools, which must be equipped with fixed staircases and metal handles distributed around them.

Secondly, parents are not busy with the phone or the virtual world while the children are swimming, pointing out that in a few minutes the drowning incident may occur in case of lack of vigilance and proximity to children.

Thirdly, wear swimming equipment and provide children with life jackets, tools and life jackets while swimming.

Fourthly, first aid education must teach parents, caregivers, older children and pool owners how to perform immediate CPR for the greek before ambulance teams arrive.

Fifthly, teach children water survival skills by teaching them swimming lessons and learning basic water safety skills, including how to stand in the water, stay on the beach or near the edge of the pool.

ADP stated that drowning children in swimming pools was one of the most common causes of grief and psychological problems for parents and those around them, warning of indifference and disregard for safety instructions in order to protect children from drowning incidents.
