Recreation festival at "Kids Park"

 

The activities of disabled="disabled" children's festival will kick off tomorrow, Sunday at the animal and family "Kids Park", in Al Bahya, Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care. The aim of the festival is to teach the children how to treat animals, to encourage them to preserve the environment and how to grow plants in addition to assist them to integrate into the community and respond to all its activities.

The owner of this national and social project, Nasser La Khreibani Al Nuaimi said "We seek to bridge the gap, created by modern life styles, between the child and animal to enhance atmospheres of closeness in safe and secure surroundings, in addition to introducing them to our environmental partners, how to keep them through acquainting with their types, how to gain them and methods of their lives.

There are many types of local animals available in the park, such as dogs, horses, birds, gazelles, camels, reptiles and others. The model park serves the locals and all the UAE children.

Maryam Saif Al Qubaisi, Head of disabled="disabled" Persons Sector at Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care said "Kids Park enhances the environment concepts and preservation and instills the values of caring for tamed animals. It also motivates them to cultivate land".

"The Park has made a quantum leap forward in presenting recreational programmes for children. It has introduced new concepts in diversified programmes and activities which develop care for disabled="disabled" children and give them opportunities to learn", added Al Qubaisi.

The activities include recreational programmes, clown shows, lectures on animals, and painting on faces, cartoon characters, police dog shows and growing of different plants in areas allocated for this purpose.

Tomorrow Sunday will be assigned to Al Ain Center Children, Monday to Abu Dhabi Center children and Tuesday Al Noor Center children.

It is worth mentioning that the Kids Park which was opened in November, 2008 by HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, witnesses increased turnout of visitors, UAU national and residents and visitors from the neighboring countries. It is the first of its kind un the region where children can approach and touch tamed animals among safe hygienic precautions. It also pays attention to cultural and social aspects beside its unique recreational programmes.
