Marine Police succeed to save lives and rescue boats

The Marine Police from the Abu Dhabi Police have carried out 114 Marine rescue missions on Abu Dhabi beaches and saved lives and rescued the boats that met with accidents on various occasions.

The Marine patrol from the Capital Police carried out the mission rescue operation From January to November saving lives and rescuing boats and also carried out searching operations for missing boats on Abu Dhabi costal areas and near by islands.

Captain Khalid Al Shamsi, acting head of the Marine Police department at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police have emphasized the importance of taking necessary precautions and safety measures while going to the sea particularly when the climate is changing and the wind and waves are on a high. Due to marine accidents 4 people have died while the Police could rescue 11 people and other 6 have been reported missing by their families.

He called upon the people to take all the safety measures while going to the sea, such as wearing life jackets and also inform the police about the destination one is going, the expected time of their return and also their telephone number to the control room at 999 Where the police will be ready to provide any assistance round the clock, and also keep monitoring, he added.

The Marine Police at the Abu Dhabi police have rescued 5 boats sunk, assisted 21 boats that Brock down ,4 accident cases ,2 fire cases and another suicide case.

Captain also warned those going for water skating to fully adhere to the safety requirements and follow up on the warnings and other instructions displayed by the authorities at various places and not to go far deep in to the sea but to be near to the shores and assure the safety.
