A number of experts and specialists in the area of crowd control are participating in the events of the 2014 International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014); set to take place on April 1-3, 2014 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The Higher Organizing Committee of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014 indicated that a total of 12 French companies from GICAT, the French Land & Airland Defense and Security Manufacturers Association, will also participate in the exhibition.  GICAT is an association of 250 professional French companies, which provide services to the French military and security forces. The French experts’ participation in the exhibition’s events aims to exchange know-how, experiences, and best practices adopted in France, which has built up indisputable proven expertise and reputation as one of the most advanced countries in Crowd Control and security.

The list of the participating companies includes Bertin Technologies; Cegelec Defense; GK Professional;  Marck SAS; Luceor SAS; Renault Trucks Defense SAS; Thales; Civipol; Centigon; Verney Carron; Enio; Nobel Sport; Protecop; and SAE Alsetex.

Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014) said: “In light of the economic diversification plans pursued by the higher leadership, the UAE is expected to become the capital of business tourism in the Middle East. This would create enormous challenges for the security authorities that always seek to enhance their readiness to overcome these challenges, by participating in such exhibitions and events”.

“The UAE hosts and organizes annual events that attract thousands of visitors, in light of the unprecedented boom in business tourism, and its emergence as a global hub for major international business, sports, and security events, such as and the Formula 1 Race, IDEX (International Defense Exhibition and Conference), the World Expo 2020, the World Future Energy Summit, as well as many other annual events including high level international conferences and meetings. Since crowds comfort and safety represent a top priority  for security authorities, the participation of French companies and industries in the exhibition will provide us with an important opportunity to learn from their experiences in the field of risk prevention and to review the latest mechanisms of to maintain security and control crowds,” added Major General Al Kutbi .

For his part, Bernard Refalo, Deputy Director of the French Land & Airland Defense and Security Manufacturers Association (GICAT) said:” We are greatly pleased to participate in this important event, being one of the largest specialized exhibitions in security technologies from around the world.  This event represents an important opportunity for us to showcase our own technologies and experiences to an international audience, and we wish the exhibition success in achieving the desired objectives.”

It is worth mentioning that France has built up an indisputable proven experience as a leading country in crowd control, as well as maintaining the public order through a range of crowd control products or technology services available and modeling and real-life situations solutions that help security authorities handle public disorder resulting from large crowds of people.

The methods used include direct video observation and monitoring of crowd movements, assessing the number of people, deploying security vehicles, managing control centers, and using multi-purpose and expandable shelters, in addition to providing broadband commun
