INTERPOL: Abu Dhabi Police buildings meet international standards
 
 

The Abu Dhabi police buildings have been assessed as meeting the highest international security standards, according to an INTERPOL audit report which INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Noble handed over to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the sidelines of the ID World Abu Dhabi 2011.

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif said that these top achievements reflect the continuous support of our leadership which was working on achieving the highest levels of total urban modernization in various government sectors, thus improve and activate performance to meet the requirements of modern life of our society.

In its report, the INTERPOL urged all member states (188 countries) to follow the example of the United Arab Emirates which managed to upgrade the international security standards in the police buildings.

A delegation from Abu Dhabi Police GHQ has recently visited the headquarters of the INTERPOL in France to get acquainted with the best international practices. The visit came in response of the instructions issued by HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior who called for taking the necessary measures to protect police buildings through availing the global practices in this field.

A program was arranged for an expected visit by a delegation of INTERPOL experts to learn about buildings of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

The meeting was attended by Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar ,Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior , Major General Nasser Lekhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Major General Khalifa Harib Al Kheli, Assistant Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of ADP Central Operations, Chairman of Executive Committee and Emirates Identity Authority Board Member, Dr. Eng. Ali Mohammed Khori, director general of Emirates Identity Authority, in addition to a number of senior officials

Saif meets Pakistan’s Interior Minister

On the other hand, Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior yesterday met Rehman Malik, Interior Minister of Pakistan on the sidelines of ID World Abu Dhabi 2011 summit. 

Jamil Ahmed Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan in UAE was also present on the occasion.

Sheikh Saif stressed the keenness of UAE leadership in developing joint cooperation's with various countries. Two sides also reviewed ways of enhancing joint cooperation's in the field of policing and security between UAE and Pakistan.
