ADP: Integrated capabilities to receive travelers through Al Ghuwaifat border post

 

The Al Ghuwaifat Border Outlet Security Police Section of ADP Directorate General of Security and Outlets Affairs has received with intensified preparations the increasing flow of travelers during Eid Al Fitr holiday. Travelers include GCC States families, Arab and foreign tourists from neighboring countries.

Major Salim bin Tassa Al Amri, Head of Al Ghuwaifat Border Post Security Police Section said “The Post receives around 10 thousand travelers daily during Eid holiday. During normal days the number reaches 5 to 7 thousand persons”.

“All those concerned are keen to deliver best services. A coordinating meeting was held between relevant parties to find a mechanism to receive travelers, to facilitate their task and to finalize their transactions within few minutes”, added Al Amri.

Part of the services is the phone number 02 – 8082800, for travelers to communicate with the duty office around the clock to solve any problem and to offer necessary help. There are 11 lanes at the outlet and 11 cabins to serve the travelers.

8 of these lanes are dedicated for travelers coming from Saudi Arabia including one for women only. 3 lanes are for travelers leaving the country to Saudi Arabia. There are guest houses for trucks drivers, buses drivers and private vehicles drivers provided with seats, air conditions and water.

The Post uses the latest technology in finalizing passengers’ transactions, searching their luggage and facilitating their entry and exit. Security is a system involving all for passengers comfort.

Tareef Police Department has integrated policing facilities, including traffic, patrols ambulance vehicle for emergencies round the clock etc.

Al Amri lauded all other concerned authorities for their contribution to travelers’ service. These include Customs, Passports and municipality and others.

He urged passengers to ensure the validity of their documents, passports and vehicles registration, before starting their journeys.

At the end of his statement he congratulated the UAE leadership and people and Arab and Muslim nations on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
