Al Mullah: Foreign languages assist us in law enforcement and dealing with different nationalities
Colonel Anwar Al Mullah, Director of Information Technology at ADP Directorate General of Central Operations has witnessed the graduation ceremony of 10 officers from ten-week German Language Course (Second Course) at Goethe Institute.
The ceremony was attended by HE Peter Clous Brandeis, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the UAE, Major Fayssal Al Shamari, Office Director to the Director General of Central Operations and a number of Institute teachers.
Colonel Al Mullah delivered a speech on behalf of major General Ahmed Nasser Al Reisi, Director General of Central Operations at ADP. In his speech he affirmed the importance of intensive German language courses designed for assisting ADP relevant employees, in communicating easily with customers who represent more than 200 nationalities in the country.
We may recall that the first batch of ADP personnel, who have successfully completed their German Language course in April 2010, included 14 trainees from ADP. This time we have German Language trainees from various police departments.
Since 2007, it has become possible for police personnel to learn new language skills through specially designed courses that comprise alongside the English Language, German, French, Chinese, Russian and Japanese languages. Out ultimate aim is to serve police objectives and improve police performance and win clients satisfaction as a model Law Enforcement Organization.
More than 250 elements of ADP have benefited from the language training opportunities and acquired new language skills.
Today, as we see a new batch graduating from Goethe Institute, we feel proud of this achievement. We do appreciate the role of Goethe Institute and the effort exerted by its staff members in training our personnel in such a short time and to enable them to master German language skills.
Also I would like to congratulate our staff for such an important achievement, and urge them to continue learning the German Language to scale up to higher levels.
Finally I would like to thank Goethe Institute Administration and teachers for their efforts and cooperation with ADP GHQ.
It is worth mentioning that ADP organizes language courses at local and international levels. Foreign scholarships are divided into two categories. One is for police personnel, and it takes 6 months to one year. The second is for secondary school graduates who obtain more than 90% on aggregate. They are recruited by AFDP and sent abroad to continue their university and post-graduate studies. They are give opportunity to master languages and specialize in ine field of knowledge.
The graduates are: Mohammad bin Abdullah al Saadi, Ahmed Obeid al Obeidali, Ahmed Ali Al Hanttoobi, Khalid Khalifa Al Shamsi, Abdullah al Ssagheeri, Ahmed Ibrahim al Hamadi, Malik Mohammad al Yaarubi, Abdullah Salim al Blushi, Mohammad Mattar Al Amri and Saeed Ali Al Saadi.
