Al Nuaimi calls for legislations to avoid sports risks
Abu Dhabi Police studies introduction of a licence category for quad bikes
The participants in the symposium organized by the Center of Research and Security Studies at ADP GHQ, on Tuesday, under the patronage of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recommended an amendment to the Regulations of the Federal Law of Traffic, to introduce a new category of licences for quad bikes driving and relevant terms and conditions. They also recommended that lanes, timings and prohibited areas for the use of quad bikes should be identified. Strict surveillance should be practiced on the shops that rent quad bikes. Moreover, a committee comprising specialists in traffic, mechanical engineering, specifications, insurance, health and other relevant parties to draft organizing rules.
The symposium was attended by Major General Nasser la Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of HH's Office and Director of the Center of Research and Security Studies. The theme of the symposium was "Quad Bikes between Legality of Licensing and Risks of Use". Al Nuaimi opened the Symposium on behalf of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Major General Khaleel Dawood Badran Director General of Finance and Services, Major General Mohammad bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Director general of Human Resources and Acting Director general of Policing Operations, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Risi, Director General of Central Operations at ADP, and Major General Mustafa Shihab Al Hashimi, Director General of Police College and a number of senior officials. The sessions of the symposium were chaired by Colonel Gheith Hassan Gheith Al Zaabi, Director of Traffic Coordination at the Ministry of Interior. The speakers were Colonel Hamad Adeel Al Shamsi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department at ADP, Mr. Mohammad Ahmed bin Sulayim, Chairman of Emirates Vehicles and Tourism Club, Dr. Mohammad Yunis Al Sagheer, from Engineering College at UAE University and Researcher Mahmood Mohammad Abdul Qadir from the Center of Research and Security Studies.
