Abu Dhabi Police and “Ernst” sign MoU in accounting, financial planning and training
 
 

Abu Dhabi Police GHQ signed a memorandum of understanding with Ernst &Young, Abu Dhabi, a company specialized in the delivery of consultative services, auditing, training and occupational rehabilitation.

The agreement was signed by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran on behalf of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and by Bassam Al Yas Al Hajj, partner and representative of the company in Abu Dhabi, on behalf of the company.

Major General Badran said, “The agreement comes within the instructions of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minster of Interior who urged that coordination and cooperation should be carried out with competent sectors including technical consultancies firms approved in the country in order to upgrade the mechanisms of partnership. This will help promote police work and keep up with advancements to further prepare efficient police personnel.

“The agreement focuses on enhancing the occupational and technical efficacy of staff members working at the Finance and Services Directorate General in areas of accounting, financial planning and training on the best world practices in respect to  applying financial audit standards”, said Badran.

He also said, “By virtue of this MoU, the two parties have agreed to establish common cooperative and coordinative framework in areas of facilitating the exchange of information and strategies, objectives, work plans, rehabilitation and training initiatives. According to the agreement, persons joining the training programs shall be assigned to work at the offices of Ernest & Young, as per the training plan”.

For his part, Bassam Al Hajj, partner and the company’s representative in Abu Dhabi, declared that within the agreement, a work mechanism and program defining the training periods for the concerned Abu Dhabi Police personnel will be laid down shortly. This is driven by the strong belief of Ernst & Young in developing the Emirati society in the relevant fields.

He added that the MoU aims at promoting partnership with Abu Dhabi Police in consultative and training areas related with internal audit, risk management and financial and administrative studies. A team from the Directorate General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police will be working with the company’s employees, which may contribute to conveying international expertise and getting acquainted with areas of development and in the areas agreed upon between the two parties.

Ernst & Young is one of four international institutions working in the activities mentioned above, in addition to the delivery of the consultancy services in areas including infrastructure, technology and information security, development of organizational performance and measurement indicators, risks, governance, occupational rehabilitation and taxations.
