ADP prepared to deal with any emergencies
ADP has succeeded in preparing national instructors in the field of land rescue and fire fighting. ADP intends to form a rescue team of nationals to carry out tasks and duties in sea waters, underground wells etc, as part of strategy to provide better services to the public safeguarding their lives and properties.
Colonel Mohammad Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of ADP Emergency and Public Safety Department said “The Department will provide best and advanced equipment and devices for its personnel to enable them to deal with different cases and incidents with high professionalism, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Department. The Training Section has received International Accreditation and Classification Certificate from UN Search and Rescue Organization Judges Committee due to its highly advanced training programmes, as training is the essence of work development”.
Distinguished services to the public
The general strategy of Emergency and Public Safety Department is to deliver distinguished field services to the public, to save their lives and properties. Maintenance of security and safety is one of ADP GHQ top priorities. We improve the efficiency of our personnel through domestic and foreign training courses, participation in workshops, seminars and conferences in collaboration with the Department of Training at the ADP Directorate General of Human Resources.
Emirates Search and Rescue Team has reached this status due to the attention paid to the Team by our Higher Policing Leadership. The team has received advanced training in Singapore our strategic partner (Singaporean Civil Defence).
High caliber training
Major Omer Ahmed Al Dhahri, Head of Training Section has stated that ADP has set up high standards of training for Emergency and Public Safety Department personnel. In addition to necessary resources, buildings and advanced equipment and devices to enable them to carry out their tasks inside and outside the country.
The Section consists of five Branches, three of them are Operational; Technical Rescue and Rapid Reaction, Medical Training and Search and Rescue. The other two are administrative: Training affairs, planning and Follow up.
National trainers
National trainers in the field of land rescue and fire fighting have been well qualified to train basic courses trainees. They are approved by international colleges. They have received training in climbing up and down high rising buildings and ships fires abroad.
The Department training plan is in line with quality procedures, global developments weather changes. It coordinates with other ADP Departments, such as Air Wing, Q7 etc.
Search, rescue and fire fighting
In respect of Technical Rescue and Rapid Reaction Branch, said Captain Ibrahim Ali “We provide training courses in search, rescue and fire fighting include topics such as: rescue of persons trapped in vehicles, search in closed areas and under ruins, fire fighting, handling dangerous materials, natural disasters and advanced courses for firemen and rescuers. We cooperate with global institutions to train our cadres, such as UK and Canada
