ADP continues its initiative to educate the public on fog risks
1st Lt. Majid Al Marzouqi, Head of Media Studies and Security Coordination at the Secretariat General, said “The aim of communication with the public in three language (Arabic, English and Urdu), through modern Medias and smart phones, is to send an informative message and to educate them electronically on traffic guidelines and advice they have to follow while driving their vehicles and dealing with road surprises”.
“SMS Service which ADP uses through its social electronic site (Twitter) has assisted in informing the participants of smart phones campaign, about the fog risks, in addition to (Direct Mail Service) to inform them about the changes in road lanes and their closure in cases of accidents”, added Al Marzouqi.
“ADP has entered social sites, such as (Face book) and (Twitter), which are still on top of technology and new innovations list. They have become part of many people lives. They have attracted many surfers and browsers in a very short time”, added Al Marzouqi.
The Department of Security Media in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Media Company would broadcast a recurrent awareness message at different times, with effect from Thursday, so as to reach as large number of watchers as possible. The message would focus on advising motorists to take utmost precautions on rods and not using hazard lights unless they want to notify other drivers about accident on the road at the time when the signaling vehicle was passing by.
1st Lt. Hamdan Al Darei, Director of Radio Branch said “Security Media will broadcast awareness radio messages on (Holly Quran Radio, Emirates FM and Star FM) about fog risks initiative’.
Press Branch of the Department of Security Media continued for the second consecutive day publishing news and reports in partnership with Medias to warn the public against fog risks, measures to be taken by motorists during changing weather conditions and answering Media’s queries about these awareness guidelines.
Lt. Colonel Mohammad Ibrahim Al Amri, Head of ADP GHQ Emergency and Public Safety Section in Al Ain said “The Section has ten Posts of Rescue and Ambulance, in addition to two Rapid Reaction Branches deployed on main roads inside and outside Al Ain City. He urges the public to call the Operations Room on (999), when they see any accident, especially during the changing weather conditions”.
In line with the initiative launched by ADP GHQ, represented by the Department of Security Media, in collaboration with ADP Directorate of Traffic and Patrols, he has urged motorists to take utmost precaution while driving during foggy weather, which normally falls at midnight or early morning.
