A study by ADP calls for the licensing of quad bikes

A study launched by ADP Centre of Research and Security Studies under the title “Quad bikes between licensing law and risks of use”, calls for the licensing of quad bikes by the authorities concerned. They should be licensed in accordance with the Federal Traffic law number 21 for 1995.

The study indicates that the law aims at the unification of vehicles licensing procedures. The quad bike is a vehicle according to the definition stipulated by the law.

The study also discusses the risks and dangers of driving quad bikes. Their drivers need licensing and insurance cover. In case of accidents the driver of the quad bike can not be traced as there are no number plates or a record for the user. Article (13) of the above law warns against driving motor bikes on roads without a license. They should be used in the desert or rural areas.

The study mentions examples from other Arab and foreign countries in this respect. The study also stresses the importance of increasing traffic awareness among students as most users of these quad bikes are from this category. The study presents a mechanical explanation of the quad bike work.
