“Police Friends” acquaint themselves with “ADP Licensing” tasks
Police Friends Group has participated in the campaign of the Department of Security Media at the Secretariat General of the office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, under the slogan “We ensure your safety in the fastest way”, in preparation for Etihad Airways Formula 1, Grand Prix – Abu Dhabi 2010, which will be hosted by the Capital Abu Dhabi
Police Friends Group comprises male and female students from Abu Dhabi Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Special needs, Al Shazali Model School for Boys and Al Suqoor Model School for Girls.
The Group visited first ADP GHQ Department of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing. They were received by Colonel Mohammad bin Maayoof Al Kitbi, director of the Department, Colonel Ibrahim Nasser Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of the Department, Lt. Ali Al Hosani, Director of Strategic Planning Branch and a number of officers.
Colonel Al Kitbi lauded the Security Media initiative of “Police Friends”, considering them effective elements in the society through involving them in ADP campaign for F1. Their contribution to spread of road behavior culture reflects ADP GHQ interest and care for different community categories, whether they are healthy or with special needs.
This initiative encourages our children, especially those with special needs, to integrate with their healthy peers in visiting government departments and authorities. Thus they feel they are in harmony with their community. Although they are young, but they are able to offer positive view about community, the thing that boosts their self-confidence.
Colonel Al Kitbi has urged the Group to work harder. He said to them “The good work you are doing now will get fruits in the future. Disability should not stand on your ways and prevent you from serving your country and community. We have employed a number of disabled="disabled" persons in our Department. They work very hard and have proved their excellence in performance”.
The members of the Group paid their visit to the Licensing Department wearing police uniform with different ranks. They toured the Vehicle Licensing and Technical Inspection Sections. During their tour they distributed mementos and awareness posters. Vehicle owners received valuable prizes from ADP.
Lt. Al Hosani who accompanied the Group during their tour said “We are happy with the visit of Police Friends Group in police uniform, which it means a lot to them. We are proud of this uniform which indicates our preparedness to protect our country and to die for it. I hope this visit will motivate the members of the Group to bear their responsibilities towards our beloved country”.
Customers of the Department expressed their admiration of the members of the Group wearing the police uniform and distributing gifts and f1 posters with diligence and determination, the thing that indicates all age categories should join hands for the best.
