The Correctional and Penal Institutions Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters defined the visiting hours for inmates in the Al Ain, Al Wathba, and Al Mafraq juvenile welfare institution during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Colonel Mohammed Saif Matar Al Zuabi, Director of Correctional and Penal Institutions Department clarified that the visits in Al Ain and Al Wathba will be specified during Ramadan, on Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM, for visitors who carry permission from the public prosecution, while Wednesday from 9 AM to 2 PM, will be for diplomatic visitors (embassies).

Female visitors to Al Ain and Al Wathba facilities will be received on Monday and Tuesday; on Monday from 9 AM to 4 PM and on Tuesday from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Visiting hours on Thursday are split into two periods; the first will be specified for males visiting female inmates, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, while the second will be specified for lawyers to visit inmates of both sexes, from 11:45 AM to 2 PM.

Friday will be for foreign male visitors taking place in two periods; morning from 9 AM to 12 PM, and evening from 1 PM to 4 PM.

Saturday will be specified for Arab Male Visitors from 9 AM to 4 PM.

The visiting schedule to Al Mafraq juvenile welfare institution will be as following: Saturday for Arab male visitors, Friday for foreign male visitors and Monday for female visitors; visiting hours will start at 9 AM and end at 4 PM.

Al Zuabi reasserted Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness on communication between the inmates and their families and relatives in times that are suitable for both sides. He pointed out that the department ensures to provide a suitable atmosphere during the Holy Month of Ramadan for inmates and visitors under the initiative called “Salamatak” launched by Abu Dhabi Police, where visitors will be transferred from the Department’s gate to the visiting place in environmentally friendly cars that work on electricity.
