The Traffic & Patrols Department of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters will participate in the Creativity Corner activities as part of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair that will be held during March 28th – April 2nd at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Lt. Colonel Jamal Salem Al Amri, Chief of the Public Relations Division at the Department, asserted the Department’s keenness to participate in all cultural, economic activities as an embodiment of its strategy to improve communication with various sectors in order to enhance traffic awareness among different segments of society.
Al Amri explained that the Creativity Corner in Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is targeting kids between the ages of 6-12 years. Traffic awareness competitions will be organized where traffic related gifts will be distributed to winners. Brochures will be distributed as well to increase the preventive awareness level among students to prepare a well-educated generation.
Al Amri invited all community segments to participate in the Department activities whether in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair or in other social activities.
On another occasion and as part of the traffic awareness programs that targets enhancing traffic safety in schools, the Department held a traffic awareness seminar in Abu Dhabi University presented by Lt. Colonel Jamal Salem Al Amri, Chief of the Public Relation Division at the Department.
Al Amri analyzed through traffic statistics the main reasons for traffic accidents, deaths and injuries and the efforts exerted to achieve the best traffic safety results on the road.
Al Amri confirmed that traffic awareness is a comprehensive process that includes three main partners: family, school, and the motorists and drivers. The family’s role is to protect their children from traffic accidents. The role of schools is to increase traffic awareness level. He mentioned that the role of drivers is to pay attention and be careful on the road to ensure student’s safety.
The Department also organized during last week, as a part of its communication strategy, a number of awareness seminars in cooperation with many governmental institution and schools to increase the level of traffic awareness in order to minimize traffic violations and road accidents.
