Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and Deputy Head of the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Team in Abu Dhabi, inaugurated a specialized course for Emergency and Crisis Action planning. The course, held recently in Abu Dhabi, was organized by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) in cooperation with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Team in Abu Dhabi.

Major General Al Raisi stressed the importance of holding such courses to develop emergency teams in order to address all kinds of emergencies successfully, thus protecting the country’s achievements. Readiness can be improved by good planning and collaboration among team members, according to Major General Al Raisi.

He praised the efforts made by the NCEMA to provide specialized courses to help improve the capabilities of local emergency team members. He wished all participants success and luck, and urged them to continue seeking scientific knowledge and gain more expertise in successful management of emergency and crisis.

Khalid Hashil Al Nuaimi from the Planning Department at the NCEMA delivered a lecture in which he addressed the basic practices for emergency management. He also discussed the importance of planning, the levels and concept for crisis and disasters management; international and local emergency management laws; communication during emergencies; data collection and analysis; and emergency planning review, development, and updating using information analysis. He also shed light on how to identify planning resources and documents necessary for planning management, in addition to how to benefit from planning resources.

A total of 34 employees from different federal and local (Abu Dhabi) departments and institutions took part in the five-day course that was held at the Hilton Capital Grand.

This course falls within the NCEMA’s strategy to train and develop national human resources within local institutions and departments to prepare plans to address emergencies, crises, and disasters as well as how to implement such plans. These courses also aim to prepare the local emergency planning team members to be ready to set emergency and crisis action plans.

Within its annual strategy and plan, the NCEMA is keen to invest in human resources through training and development in order to prepare personnel to be ready to face emergencies and crises across the Emirates and cities in the country, as well as to enable participants to deal with such cases properly.
