Security measures are in place for IRENA Conference in Abu Dhabi

 

Major General (S) Obeid Al Hiri Salim Al Kitbi, Deputy C-in-C of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the High Security Committee of IRENA Conference has confirmed that all security arrangements to receive UAE guests, participants and speakers of the conference have completed. The Conference is organized by Abu Dhabi for Future Energy Company (Source).

According to Al Kitbi the Conference will receive high attention at the world level in respect of finding best renewable means of energy. The City "Source" represents the most ambitious project for sustainable renewable energy (Wind and Sun).

Al Kitbi lauded the cooperation of all parties participating in the Security Committee work, including the Armed Forces and Police Organization. The Security Committee will set up a 1.3 km long water barrier on the sea front facing ADNEC. A 600 meter long water barrier on the sea front facing Emirate Palace Hotel will be set up as well. 

Major Fayssal Al Shamari, Chairman of Media Committee for the Conference has confirmed the importance of cooperation of all participating parties. He urges sea goers and water jet skis not to come near these barriers, in order to enhance UAE stature.

It is worth mentioning that UAE has won the bid to host IRENA Headquarters. UAE will spare no effort to support IRENA and to assist other countries to make use of effective development, to exchange experiences, to eliminate the adverse effects of traditional energy production.
