The Police Attaché Office at the UAE embassy in London signed a memorandum of understanding with Portsmouth University, on coordination and collaboration between the two sides, as per the requirements set by the Diploma Equivalency Commission at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE.

The agreement was signed by Major Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Breiki, Police Attaché at the UAE embassy in the United Kingdom, and by Professor Jon Craven, vice-chancellor of Portsmouth University.

Major Al-Breiki stated that the signing of the memorandum is part of the Police Attaché Office in the United Kingdom’s endeavor to build strong partnerships and acquire better services with the various parties.

He added that the memorandum stipulates reducing tuition fees for all UAE nationals and Ministry of Interior scholarship students by 10%. The two parties also agreed to exchange visits and to cooperate in all aspects of education and training.

In this respect, Major Al-Breiki met in his office, Mr. Jay Robso, representative of Portsmouth University vice-chancellor from the International Relations Office, as part of the strategy to promote relations with British universities.

During the meeting, the two parties reviewed relations between the university and Attaché Police Office, in the areas of common interest between them, related to the academic and university aspects, such as the relevant issues of admissions, following-up academic progress of students, as well as identifying police studies offered by the university, which include community police, airports security, Masters degree in disciplines related to police and security work. The two parties also agreed to exchange visits and to cooperate in all aspects of education and training.  

During the meeting, the University invited the Police Attaché in London to attend the graduation ceremony of the university students, which include 10 scholarship students from the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police.

It is noteworthy that the Police Attaché Office in London provides supervisory and academic services for more than 400 scholarship students, representing the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and the Ministry of Interior in the various disciplines and universities. The Police Attaché Office services also include an escort service for scholarship students, delegation members and trainees assigned with official missions in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where the Police Attaché Office represents the efficient arm of the police in the British capital.
