Manual on Recovering, Packaging & Submitting Samples for
 Examination by ADP Forensic Science Laboratory

 

ADP Center of Research and Security Studies has issued a "Manual on Recovering, Packaging & Submitting Samples for Examination by ADP Forensic Science Laboratory", in Arabic and English.

The Manual confirms that scientific and technological development presents new services in crime detection. The success of Forensic Evidence work depends on a number of criteria, on top of which is communication with customers and knowing the extent of their satisfaction.

Forensic Evidence work requires precaution and much care in safeguarding evidence, handling them, taking them from one place to another safely - as they are essential for crime detection and identifying the involved individuals.

The Manual presents the details of work partners in MoI, Scene of Crime, Judiciary Department, MoI, CID, Police Stations (Investigations), Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs, Department of Outlets and Airports Security, Forensic Medicine, national Center of Rehabilitation, Directorate of Traffic and Patrols, Disputes Settlement Committee and other security parties.

It also explains the work of specialists at the Department of Forensic Evidence (DFE) when samples are sent to Forensic laboratory, matching of samples with the name appended on it, keeping the covering letter in special envelope and not inside the bag of the evidence.

The Manual also explains the tasks of DEF Sections: Chemical Analysis, which includes Alcohol and Volatile Substances Branch, Poisons and Drugs Branch. Bio-criminal Section, Documents Examination Section, Technical Section, Prints Section, Fires Remains Branch, Machines and Firearms Section.
