Lost and Found Office delivers distinguished service to the public
The Capital Police Directorate (CPD) has allocated a Lost and Found Office at the CPD building as part of the Directorate efforts to deliver distinguished service to the public.
Colonel Maktoum Ali Al Shareefi, Director of CPD has affirmed that all police departments seek to simplify procedures in different areas. The Lost and Found Office received last year (922) lost items. 80% of these items were handed to their owners, against (952) items this year, where 85% of them were handed to owners.
The Office when receives lost official documents, it contacts owner when it knows their whereabouts, to notify them with their property. They are invited to report to the office to collect their items, or they are forwarded to the issuing authority whether they are government institutions, private agencies or embassies.
The Office spares no effort to reach the owners of lost items, such as cell phones, watches, cameras, bags etc. If the person is not located they are kept until the time for legal action comes.
There is a coordination mechanism between CPD and Abu Dhabi Island Hotels, Emirates Post and Cooperative Societies, where the Office takes lost items from them, in addition to the items found by the public members who take them to police stations and then CPD collect these items from different police stations.

Colonel Al Shareefi has expressed his deep thanks and appreciation for the community members cooperation in bringing lost items with honesty, affirming that ADP seeks to enhance its comprehensive perspective on security awareness, in order to enhance the ongoing efforts in security and safety progress.
