ID card can be used for E-Gate passage
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Risi, Director General of Central Operations at ADP GHQ and Member of EIDA Board of directors said that passengers can now use their ID Cards to go through E-Gates deployed at all UAE airports.
Al Raisi lauded the cooperation between Emirates Gate Project Board and EIDA. The ID card is a comprehensive identifying card. According to Mr. Mohammad Ahmed Al Zaabi, Director of Emirates Electronic Gate Project, the inclusion of electronic gate system services in the ID card will allow the holder of the card, nationals and residents, to go through all passages that use E-Gate System at border points.
The service will be added to the ID card for Dh 150. No need for personal documents. The service is valid for two years. It is renewable, depending on the validity of the ID, Passport must be valid for six months at least for expatriates. The service can be obtained fro 37 E- Gate offices throughout UAE.
