The first security education forum of the Bani Yas police station in the outer regions has conveyed the  concept of the security culture and the community partnership between the police institution and the community to the public, in addition to imparting the importance of enhancing the sense of security among individuals.

The forum, which was held in Bawabat Al Chark “Mall of Bani Yas,” adopted entertainment programs that included competitions on the functions of the community police, how to treat and solve any social problem, lessons on how to establish harmony between disputing parties, the importance of the community partnership, and its role to enhance the communication of police with various sectors.

Lieutenant Colonel Hamid Mohammed Al Aafari, Director of the Bani Yas Police station, said that this forum aims to transfer the security culture to the largest segment of society, and enforce the sense of security among individuals. He explained that the theatrical presentations simulate social reality, and highlights the role of the police to address social problems. He also referred to the participation of the canine unit, ambulance and rescue, Red Crescent, and communication efforts.

He added that the forum is a way for the police leadership to access the public and interact with them through the entertainment events that accompanied the forum during this Holy Month. The forum also highlights the role of community police to host events and various exhibitions in order to educate the community, in a manner that can allow people to participate in reducing crime.

He considered the timing of the forum to be ideal adding that the summer holidays coinciding with the month of Ramadan allows the community police to meet with the public, and identify and rectify problems in society.

The First Lieutenant Salem Sultan Al Shamsi, Coordinator of the Forum and Director of the Community Police in the Bani Yas Police Station, said that the forum’s activities included various sections with the participation of the Communications Department and the Red Crescent through which various awareness information has been provided.

He also pointed out that the members of the Community Police Branch presented a theatrical and educational show about solving social problems in a friendly and understanding way, as well as a drawing competition for children. Jassim Aabid from the community police presented an education and counseling program using a teddy bear character in order for the information presented to be better received by the children; the program was accompanied by other entertainment activities.
