Deer hunters arrested the police
Three young national men, driven by their deer hunting hobby, chased a deer in a wildlife sanctuary at Al Heir, Al Ain City. According to Brigadier Omeir Mohammad Al Miheiri, Director of the Capital Police Directorate, Al Ain Police Station received a report from one member of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and rescued a deer and returned it to the sanctuary.
The police circulated the descriptions of the vehicle and arrested them in a record time. It is worth mentioning that UAE laws prohibit the hunting of wild animals, birds and reptiles. The Local Law number (22) of 2005 organizes wildlife hunting. The Law contains firm punishment for violation of its stipulations.
