Abu Dhabi Police showcases Criminal Geology Project
in a Conference in USA

 

ADP GHQ has participated in the 3rd Annual Criminal and Environmental Geology Conference held in the State of California, United States of America, which continued for three days.

The delegation presented the Criminal Geology Project “Criminal and Environmental Soil Science”, which is now being set up by ADP at the Department of Forensic evidence, with a view to achieve justice, as the soil can be a forensic evidence for the use of law authorities.

Captain Ahmed Saeed Al Kaabi, Head of the delegation and Project Manager said “The UAE is only Arab country which participates in this famous Conference, which is attended by global security agencies and organizations, such as the FBI, US ministry of Defence, Italian and British Police”.

“The UAE Project which has been discussed by participating experts and specialists in respect of soil analysis for forensic purposes found an echo in the hearts of the participating personalities”, added Al Kaabi.

The Conference discussed a number of papers focusing on examination of soil under the dead body in order to estimate death time, metals print on the soil to identify pollution sources, evaluation of geological samples, explanation of their results, use of soil funguses in criminal investigations, importance of soil evidence in murder crime investigations, use of ground radar to identify the suspicious buried items, and the use of geological excavations and feet prints in crime reconstruction.

The delegation visited the Forensic Laboratory in River Side County, State of California, where they met with the Laboratory Director and Experts. They discussed the possibility of making use of the Laboratory capabilities through exchange of information and expertise in training areas. The delegation also reviewed the work system and mechanism in the Laboratory and the method of evidence archiving by use of LIMS System.

The delegation comprised the Expert Khadoama Al Nuaimi and the Technician Saleh al Katheeri.
