Abu Dhabi Police disseminate Environment, Health and Safety Concept

 

ADP Department of Strategy and Performance Development have organized at the Police officers Club, a workshop on general awareness to disseminate the concept of environment, health and safety in Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.

 The workshop was opened by Captain Khalid Hussain Al Khoori, Head of Comprehensive care at the Department of Strategy and Performance Development. He reviewed Abu Dhabi Government directives to implement environment, health and safety requirements.He said “ADP project aims to develop an integrated system to protect environment, human health and to ensure employees safety through the development of environment, health and safety management system, within the legislative framework of environment, health and safety management system of Abu Dhabi Emirate. Also it aims to educate police personnel on the importance of environment and compliance with health and safety standards”.  

The workshop was presented by Diana Khayal and Nazeera Al Nihai, Health, Environment and Safety Consultants. They focused on the importance of environment, health and safety, awareness of relevant laws and legislations, identification and evaluation of controlling elements of environmental effect, and the risks of health and safety.

During the workshops, many examples of environmental pollution consequences were reviewed. Procedures to be adopted to reduce energy use, depletion of its sources and preservation of environment for the coming generations were also reviewed.

The present were briefed on the Federal Law number 24 regarding preservation and development of environment, including the maximum limits of carbon dioxide gas and Kyoto Convention approved in 2005.
