"Government establishments" wins ADP swimming championship

 

The Department of Government and Diplomatic establishments Protection won the third long distance swimming championship for ADP GHQ Departments by (39 points). The Department of Special tasks won the second place by (52 points) and the Western region Police directorate won the third place by (68 points). 

In singles competition, Al Ain Police Directorate swimmer, Mohammad Al Ghafri, won the first place. He crossed the race distance of 1,000 meter in 15 minutes and 46 seconds. Abdullah Nassib from l Ain Police Directorate came second by 15 minutes and 54 seconds time. In the third place came Alaudeen Samalali from Special Tasks Department by 16 minutes and 17 seconds time. 

The Championship which was organized the sports Activities Section at the Department of Clubs and Sports Activities at Abu Dhabi Corniche, on Tuesday. 32 swimmers from 4 Departments participated in the Championship: Government and Diplomatic establishments Protection, Special tasks Departments, and Al Ain and the Western Region Police Directorates.

1st Lt. Ahmed Jabir al Awadhi, Head of teams and competitions Branch gave the start signal of the race, at 08:45 hrs.

Lt. Colonel Aarif Saif Al Shamsi, Head of sports activity section said "The championship is very important as police elements should be fit all the times in order to perform their duties efficiently. Another short distance championship will be held at the end of this month at the Police Officers club".
