Ministry of Interior’s "999" magazine, a society and security monthly has announced the launch of two new monthly publications at the beginning of February. The first one, published in English   (999), targets non-Arabic readers, as the first UAE and Middle East English language society security magazine. The second publication is titled "999 Kids".

Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services in the Abu Dhabi Police; Chairman of the Committee on the development of the magazine "999", said  that publishing of both new publications comes in implementation of the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in order to make the  magazine "999" plays a greater  vital role in the areas of security awareness for the two important categories namely  non-Arabic speakers and  children and educating them about the role plays by the ministry  of interior and Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.


He added that this new media step made by the "999" magazine integrates with its media role to share in the achievement of the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of the Interior which seeks to make the UAE one of the most secure and safest countries in the world, to provide media coverage for the activities and efforts of the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police, to stimulate community participation to achieve security by raising the sense of security for citizens and residents, to  encourage the public to contribute to the reduction of crime rates, and the dissemination of the concepts of cultural diversity, and promotion for the UAE where residents enjoy a high level of religious tolerance and social harmony.

For his part, Lt. Col. Awadh Saleh Al Kendi, editor -in – chief of "999" magazine said: " 999 kids " targets children aged between four and eight years, and its media strategy seeks to instill correct security awareness in children at an early age.

He added that the English language "999" is a distinguished media experience in the delivery of security awareness messages directly to non-Arabic speakers including residents, visitors and tourists.
