New number plates for bikes in Abu Dhabi Emirate
ADP Department of Vehicles Licensing intends to replace the existing number plates of motor bikes with smaller ones with effect from this week. The new arrangement will affect 6,859 motorbikes registered in Abu Dhabi Emirate.
Major Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Director of vehicles Licensing Branch at the Department of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing said "The number plate will be replaced during the renewal of motorbike registration time. The new 20X11cm theft and forgery-proof plate will be replaced for a charge of Dh 35 only".
Al Zaabi urges motor bikes drivers to comply with traffic directions, safe driving to avoid accidents. The risks of motorbike speeding are not less than those of any vehicle. General safety rules for driving motorbikes are imperative. They are in the heart of police priorities in awareness programmes, especially all motorbike drivers are of the youth category.
Any motorbike driver where the digits of his number plates are not clear he will pay a fine of Dh200, in addition to three traffic points.
