The Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior (MoI) Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha'far has inspected the work flow and services provided to the public by the Umm Al Quwain (UAQ) Police GHQ, through its various departments.
Upon arrival, he was received by Colonel Salem Al Mazrouei, Acting Commander-in- Chief of Umm Al Quwain Police and directors of the departments of Police General Headquarters of Umm Al Quwain.
He met with the Acting General Commander and department directors who got him briefed on areas of development and continuous improvement of the work to enhance police performance and various services provided to the public.
The visit included the Punitive and Correctional Facilities Department where he was briefed on the services offered to the inmates.
He also visited the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Umm Al Quwain, where he was briefed on the work performance, procedures and services provided by the Department for clients.
He also visited the Asalmah Police Station, one of the comprehensive police stations that have been activated according to the new organizational structure of the Umm Al Quwain Police General headquarters.
He also inspected the Departments of Traffic and Patrols and Vehicles and Drivers licensing where learned about the statistics on traffic accidents and traffic violations during 2010- 2011, and their main causes
In addition to the procedures and steps that have been taken to crack on traffic accidents, Al Sha’far also got briefed on the decline in traffic accidents rates on the Al Etihad road following reduction of speed on this road.
