The Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section at the Abu Dhabi Police’s Traffic and Patrols Directorate, distributed awareness booklets to pilgrims and public bus drivers at the Mazyad, Khatam Al Shukla and Al Mudeef border points.

This initiative comes as part of the “Your Safety” campaign, which is carried out by the Abu Dhabi Police. It raises awareness among pilgrims travelling by road across border points; the campaign is targeted to those who are coming from Oman through the UAE and heading towards Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj rituals. This initiative is executed in cooperation with the Ports Management and the Passport Control Section at Mazyad, Khatam Al Shukla, Al Mudeef and Heli border points.

Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi, Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department, called upon bus drivers traveling by road to take care of bus tires and run complete bus check-ups, especially double-checking the electrical wires, AC systems and ventilation. He also urged them to adhere to the legal weight limit allowed on their buses.

Colonel Al Bloushi urged travelers to make sure they have proper vehicle documents, insurance and individual identification and travel-related documents. Travelers were also advised to take proper breaks while travelling.

The Al Ain Traffic delegation, chaired by First Lieutenant Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, Director of Public Relation Branch at the section, praised the positive response from vehicle and public bus drivers regarding the traffic awareness activities; he commended their efforts to support public safety and adhere to traffic laws and regulations during trips.
