Al Ain Social Support Center, which is part of the Abu Dhabi Police Social Support Centers Department, handled 451 different social cases in the first quarter of 2012 (in the first three months). It also organized 44 lectures on family guidance which helped 2601 people.
Colonel Ali Al Badi, Director of Al Ain Social Support Center, pointed out that the Center followed the 2012 plan and strategy set forth by the Social Support Centers Department to help resolve many family and social issues. Indeed, it received 451 cases this year, which varied from domestic disputes, domestic violence and family problems.
He added that 122 cases were reported directly to the Center by the involved persons, whereas 283 where reported by police centers and other entities. 46 cases were solved during phone calls as well.
Al Badi reaffirmed that the Social Support Centers Department, in its three branches in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Gharbia, are keen to deal with all cases in utmost discretion, meet with the concerned parties and provide them with advice and guidance as well as continuous follow-up.
The Center also launched many preventive programs in coordination with educational zones and relevant social and family organizations. In this context, 44 awareness lectures were presented, including 4 workshops, which benefited 2601 people and tackled various family-related topics regarding family welfare, raising children and excellent school performance secrets. Al Ain Social Support Center also handed out 4894 awareness brochures to the targeted public, and participated in 4 social activities that highlighted the importance of social support centers in communicating with all social categories, providing them with psychological and social guidance that suits all their needs. These centers also live up to their role in promoting communication and community partnerships with the competent institutions.
