Abu Dhabi community police launches volunteers branch
The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ launched volunteers’ branch at the Community Police Department to supervise works conducted by volunteers, to emphasize the strategy of Abu Dhabi Police in communicating with the society and creating a mechanism of organizing voluntary activities that are being organized as part of the community partnership.
Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police Operations, Major-General Mohammed Al Awadhi Al Menhali, said the move comes in line with directives of the police leadership which aim at deepening the concept of voluntary work, and disseminating its culture among the community members, to further achieve cohesion between police and community.
For his part, Director of Community Police Department, Lt. Colonel Mubarak bin Mehroum said: “among the objectives of the new branch is to develop spirit of participation among the public to achieve crime protection”. Voluntary service increases community cohesion between the two sides, thus promoting security and stability, he noted.
The Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi has recently witnessed huge rush from volunteers who wanted to participate with the community police personnel in the awareness campaigns programs organized by the Community Police Department in collaboration with the Capital Police Directorate and different police stations
