ADP presents its computer emergency response team CERT experience

The Ministry of Interior presented a paper on information security and methods of protection during Gitex 2011 networks and internet conference. The paper addressed the experience of Abu Dhabi Police computer emergency response team CERT.

Information security officer, Lt Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shammari underscored the necessity of establishing information security awareness programs, adding these programs are essential tools that help employees understand their responsibilities regarding security information and response methods towards breaches.

He said Abu Dhabi Police has a modern and effective computer emergency response team which delivers internal services to Abu Dhabi Police.
Online attacks such as virus attacks have a negative impact on the workflow directly or indirectly. Such attacks may eve result into the loss of vital services, he pointed out.

He requested that each institution should have its own response team noting that all huge investment institutions or those firms  providing technical services for employees or customers or operating in important businesses should be able to manage information security incidents.
