ADP conducts successful mock evacuation drill

 

ADP Department of Emergency and Public Safety participated yesterday (Wednesday) participated in a successful mock evacuation drill at the building of Etihad Airways Academy, in Khalifa City “A”, in Abu Dhabi.

1st Lt. Abdullah Ali Al Ssagheeri, Director of Planning Emergency Branch at the Department and Supervisor of the drill said “The operation which has continued for one hour involved Technical Rescue and Rapid Reaction Section, Ambulance Section, in coordination with Abu Dhabi Department of Civil Defence and Khalifa Police Station which has provided traffic patrols to ease traffic flow. Ambulance and Rescue Vehicles, Fire Engines and Mobile Hospital have been present at the scene”.

About the drill itself, he said “After the Central Operations Room has received a report at 09:00 hours, patrols and other relevant authorities have been mobilized to the site of the incident in a record time, not more than ten minutes. The building has been evacuated after the employees left their offices and went to the gathering points, through emergency exits. Then the rapid Reaction Units evacuated injured people”.

Lt. Al Ssagheeri has affirmed that the Department of Emergency and Public safety is keen to carry out such mock drills in order to measure the personal performance of the Technical Rescue and Rapid Reaction Section personnel, to know the standard of performance, to identify negative aspects so as to avoid them in the future and to activate positive aspects to reach the highest standards of quality.
