The Ministry of Interior started the registration process for the E-gate Project at the Abu Dhabi Mall Center today. The registration is applicable for citizens of the UAE and the GCC, in addition to residents who have an entry visa (from the port). Registration will continue until next Thursday.

Major Mohammad Ahmad Al Zaabi, Director of the E-port Project, stated that registration begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 10 p.m. He further noted that it is free-of-charge.

He added that those wishing to register should bring their passports. The Ministry of Interior has allocated special counters for women; there are other counters for individuals with special needs at the Abu Dhabi Mall Center. Emirati citizens have a separate counter, and there are three counters for residents and visitors.

He said that the project is part of the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to realize success in the e-government endeavor. E-gate registration simplifies travel procedures through the country’s ports; it streamlines travelers’ entry and exit. It takes less than 20 seconds by leveraging the eye and face scan, and passport reader.
