The Firearms and Ammunitions Quality Inspection Center at the Abu Dhabi Police Forensic Evidence Department, acquired an international recognition from the CIB International Organization. This recognition enables the Center to exchange specialized information in the field of firearms inspection with other member states, and to have its tests adopted internationally.

Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Director of the Forensic Evidence Department at Abu Dhabi Police, emphasized that such international recognition comes in line with the directives of the police leadership to implement international standards, via the Quality and Excellence policy undertaken by Abu Dhabi Police, to achieve the “Abu Dhabi Government vision 2030”.

He added that a committee, which includes members of the organization, France, Belgium and the Czech Republic, visited the Center to evaluate the requirements for international recognition, namely equipment, vehicles and procedures. Upon ascertaining that the Center meets all above-mentioned requirements, the committee declared it a certified center in Europe, Africa and Asia.

It is noteworthy that the UAE is a permanent member in the international organization, alongside 13 other countries; including 12 European countries as well as Chile. This makes the UAE the only member state from the Middle East.
