The Abu Dhabi Police organized a Men’s Shooting Championship at the shooting range of the Officers Club. A total of 16 teams from different departments participated in the event, and competed for the Sports Excellence Shield for 2012.
Colonel Mohamed Hameed bin Dalmouj Al Zahiri, Director General of Strategy and Performance Development in the General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior stated: “Hosting this championship comes in line with the Abu Dhabi Police strategy to elevate the level of skills and physical condition of police members to positively reflect on their performance when fulfilling the humane and security tasks assigned to them.”
The tournament final results were as following:
For individuals, Corporal Mohammed Naji from Department “Q7” ranked first; followed by Captain Mubarak Salim from the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department who ranked second, while Major Abdul Aziz Massoud from the same department came in third place.
On team levels, the “Q7” Department ranked first with a total of 375 points; Al Ain Police Directorate came in second with a total of 356 points, followed by the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department in third place with a total of 352 points.
