His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, ordered the dispatch of a private aircraft to bring back to the country the corpse of 7 UAE nationals of one family (the father, two sons and four daughters), who all died in a car crash in the neighboring Sultanate of Oman.
HH also order the dispatch of a special medial aircraft accompanied with two officers from the Ministry of Interior, and a medical staff to bring back the wife who sustained serious injuries in the accident. The wife will receive the required medical treatment upon arrival to the UAE.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, a horrible car crash took place Monday afternoon in Meggesil area in Salalah region of the Sultanate of Oman. The crash happened when two light vehicles –one from the UAE and one from Oman- collided with a truck. The accident resulted in the death of the UAE national Saif Abdullah Al Haj Al Kaabi, from Al Ain, and 6 of his children; two sons: Muhammed and Ahmed, and four daughters: Fatima, Afraa, Hamda and Sarah.
The wife was seriously injured in the crash, and was transferred to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah for treatment. Investigations are still underway to identify the causes of the crash.
