ADP Emergency Department Organizes Ambulance Safe Driving Course

The Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police organized a safe driving course aimed at enhancing the efficiency of a number of ambulance drivers. The course included specialized training and coaching on the proper skills to navigate ambulances safely and quickly, emergency parking and assistance at accident sites.

Lt. Colonel Omar Al Dhaheri, Chief of the Training Section at the department said: “Mastering technical matters, such as the pre-drive vehicle maintenance check, is critical and contributes to ensuring the vehicle's durability and performance in providing timely and prompt ambulance services to people in need of medical assistance.” He also highlighted the Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to continue providing rehabilitation and training for this category.

He also noted that ambulance driving is a highly delicate task that requires extreme caution and attention, in addition to deal in a safe and efficient manner with road conditions. “The Emergency and Public Safety Department is diligently committed to enhancing driving skills of its ambulance drivers, in order to serve community members and reach accident sites in record time, to ensure the provision of life-saving ambulance services to people in need,” he added.
