Schooling at juvenile home to help inmate’s better social orientation and rehabilitation

Education program provided to the inmates of the Mafraq juvenile home by Abu Dhabi Police in cooperation with Abu Dhabi education zone aims at better social rehabilitation of the young detainees by helping them to evolve better character through education and providing opportunities for development and social orientation.
The program being implemented under the direction of His Highness Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Mister of Interior. Major Ibrahim Hassan Al Marzouqi, director of the juvenile center said that at present 31 inmates are taking their mid term exams at the center at various levels.
The classes age given according to the national syllabus and both nationals and expatriates are provided with the opportunity for undergoing various classes according to their eligibilities. The classes are available from standard one to grade twelfth. Six of the inmates are giving exams for the twelfth grade, said Hassan Al Marzuqi.
On completion of the period of detention, these people can continue their studies outside. The education and other developmental trainings that received from the center will help proper integration with their families and also lead a better social life, he added.
