The Electricity and Water Conservation Committee at Abu Dhabi Police honored a number of representatives from the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), the Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and the Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) in recognition of their cooperation and efforts to limit energy consumption in the buildings of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
The chairman of the committee, Colonel Aref Al Shamesi, head of the Clubs Department at Abu Dhabi Police, praised the partners’ efforts and cooperation in achieving the committee’s objectives in promoting and enhancing the culture of awareness of electricity consumption for employees working at the Abu Dhabi Police. He pointed out that the energy conservation project is in line with the Abu Dhabi government’s aspirations to make Abu Dhabi one of the top five cities in the world in terms of exploiting renewable energy sources and preserving the environment.
For his part, Major Saeed Hilal Al Kuwaiti, head of the Technical Team at the committee, honored the representatives of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) and expressed the appreciation of the Abu Dhabi Police for the efforts exerted by the authority. He also stressed the committee’s keenness to consistently communicate with the concerned parties at the departments and sections, and to supervise the methods of conserving energy and water. Concluding, he called upon police staff members to rationalize their consumption of water and electricity. He urged for everyone to spread the culture of conservation among staff members in addition to the optimal use of energy resources without compromising the comfort of its users and their productivity. He noted that this would also extend the life span of electric appliances.
