The Directorate General of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments  at the Ministry of Interior, organized in cooperation with the Directorate General of Electronics and Telecommunications Services,  a workshop on smart applications in the Ministry of Interior - smart government's strategy, in Ajman Palace Hotel.

In his address, Brigadier Hamad Khamis Al Dhaheri, Deputy Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at the Ministry of Interior indicated that the Ministry of Interior has prepared its strategies and plans and has made great efforts towards smart transformation. “It has established to this end the Smart Government Program Team at the Ministry, which began its work by coordinating with other units of the Ministry to identify the needs of the smart transformation”, added Al Dhaheri.

Additionally, He stressed that the workshop aims to promote the efforts of improving smart electronic services and supporting innovation as a strategy. “This would contribute to upgrade police work and the quality of services provided”, he noted.

For his part, Major Yusuf Al Tunaiji,  Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department Smart e-Transformation Support Team underlined that the workshop discussed the methods and ideas that help to develop and improve the services provided by the Punitive and Correctional Establishments at the Ministry of Interior.

“the workshop briefed the attendees on the means of availing the innovation process and the smart government's strategy to increase reliance on modern technologies in means of communication through improving the happiness of customers and the happiness index about the speed and accuracy in service delivery”, explained Major Al Tunaiji.  Moreover, he emphasized that achieving customer satisfaction is the goal we are trying to accomplish through deploying smart application at the Ministry of Interior.
He also pointed out that the workshop touched on the plans which can move the smart applications process forward, such as the National Plan, data correlation, and determining a road map for all the projects, which contribute to achieve the goals and ambitions of the Ministry in promoting customers’ satisfaction and happiness.

The workshop was attended by Salem Al Hosani, Deputy Director of the Information and the e-Government Sector, the Director of the Development Department at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, directors of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Departments countywide, as well as a large number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilians working at the Directorate General of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments.
